Please remember this is the season of giving not just gifts, but of ourselves.
Just a few small gestures will make the difference to someone who has come on hard times so please remember those who are less fortunate by using some of these suggestions we may all know but could use a reminder...
Have your children select a toy in good condition they no longer play with and donate it to a children's shelter
Purchase a new toy or two and give to Toys for Tots... again let your children get involved
Adopt a family for the holidays...check with local churches for families in need
Volunteer at a soup kitchen, and carry it out all year long
Donate your gently used coats, scarves and gloves to a collection sight or start one yourself
Collect canned good for your local Can-A-Thon
Check in on elderly neighbors and invite them to spend the holidays with your family
Visit your local nursing homes, at the holidays, many people are forgotten
Donate items to your local animal shelter, better yet adopt a homeless dog or cat
Remember our Soldiers fighting for our freedom who won't be with their families, eating a festive dinner, watching football or sleeping in a warm bed.
And...last but not least, have a Wonderful and Safe Holiday Season
